We were so proud to be sponsors of the 2022 Gorey Awards in the Young Achiever category. 

These awards are a local business and community initiative and are designed to recognise and encourage people who are going beyond the call of duty in the Gorey area. 

The winner this year is an inspirational campaigner – Matthew McGrath. 

Matthew is from just outside Gorey in Co. Wexford, where Whizzy Internet is based, and where we are lucky to have beautiful beaches on our doorstep. 

Would you believe that not one of the beaches in the 20km stretch from Cahore to Castletown has wheelchair access though? Matthew is a wheelchair user so this access is crucial for him and others like him to be able to get on to the beach and enjoy it like everyone else. 

Matthew set up a campaign to raise awareness of the issue and gather signatures on a petition to try to put it right. You can check out all the details and sign the petition yourself on www.wheeleasybeaches.ie.
