We are really happy to be supporting this year’s Gorey 3 Day International Bike Race.

The four stage, 3 day road race is set to attract 165 top cyclists from Ireland, the UK, Germany and Holland.

It is one of the oldest races in the Irish road bike racing calendar, having been established 65 years ago.

Winners from previous years include Stephen Roche and current World Champion Linda Kelly.

Professional cyclist Annalise Murphy is confirmed as a competitor this year, having transitioned from sailing following her Olympic silver medal win.

The race is open to men and women over the age of 16 and takes place over 4 stages – 3 road stages and 1 individual time trial.

The Gorey 3 Day International Bike Race takes place over the Easter Weekend from Good Friday, 29th March to Easter Sunday. Riders will race an undulating route along the roads of North Wexford and South Wicklow. The finish line will be on the top of Croghan Mountain.

Currently the event costs in the region of €19,000 to run, all by volunteers, and plans are in place to grow it further.

Over 500 people will travel to Gorey including riders and their families and friends, bringing business to B&Bs, hotels, cafés and restaurants. Hundreds of spectators will line the routes to cheer on some of the best cyclists.

Whizzy Internet is about all things local. The Gorey 3 Day International Road Cycling Race is a triumph of local effort, being run entirely by dedicated volunteers.

The support that the race gets on the ground here in Gorey is powerful and we want to help ramp it up by bringing this amazing local sporting event into the limelight.
